Overview

NETUM RD2023 wired Industrial DPM Barcode Scanner

Features

RD2023 is a handheld 2D scanner launched by NETUM suitable for general industrial environments. It is equipped with a 1280 × 1024 resolution, 1.3 million pixel C-MOS sensor scanning module with excellent scanning recognition.

RD-2023 high-performance barcode recognition technology can efficiently read barcodes of various code systems. The algorithm is robust and can effectively deal with situations such as dirty, defective, and low-contrast barcodes. It uses a 1.3MP global shutter sensor and a lighting system to ensure excellent image quality. It has built-in LED aiming to clearly indicate the target field of view, and is quick to install and debug. It provides a secondary development SDK for flexible application.

DPM codes (Direct Part Marking) are generally divided into the following types:

  1. Laser Etching: Use laser engraving technology to engrave barcodes or QR codes on the surface of parts, which is common in metal surface markings.
  2. Dot Peen Marking: Use dot engraving technology to engrave barcodes on the surface of parts, and create marks by punching a series of small dots on the surface.
  3. Chemical Etching: Use chemical etching technology to engrave marks on the surface of materials, and use specific chemical solutions to remove the surface of materials to form marks.
  4. Inkjet Printing: Use inkjet printing technology to print barcodes on the surface of parts, which is often used for light materials or scenes that require temporary markings.

These different types of DPM codes are suitable for different materials and application scenarios. Choosing the right DPM code type can ensure the readability and durability of the mark.
PCB board hollow code, reflective metal laser engraving code, casting surface needle coding, surface oil stain engraving code, resin laser engraving code, cylindrical laser engraving...

Will this barcode scanner work with my computer, mobile device, or POS system?

Usually, yes—if the connection interface matches your device or the scanner supports USB HID keyboard mode. Some POS systems only accept approved USB VID/PID values, so they may reject an otherwise compatible HID scanner. Check which type your POS uses, or send us the POS model and software name before ordering.

Which barcodes can it read, and can it scan from a phone or computer screen?

Barcode support varies by model. Devices with a CMOS scanning engine can scan barcodes on a computer screen; otherwise, they cannot.

How do I connect the scanner?

For a wired scanner, connect the USB cable and start scanning—most models are ready to use right away. For a wireless scanner, follow the model’s manual to connect by 2.4G receiver or Bluetooth. Pairing steps can differ between models, so use the correct guide in Downloads.

Can I scan directly into Excel, inventory software, or a POS system?

Yes, in most cases. When the scanner is using HID keyboard mode, scanned data appears wherever the cursor is active, such as in Excel, inventory software, or a POS input field. Workflows that use serial communication, an API, or an SDK may need extra setup. Check the communication modes in the Specifications and any available software or SDK in Downloads.

The scanner beeps, but no data appears—what should I check?

A beep usually means the barcode was read, but the data is not reaching the active field. Click inside a blank field in Notepad, TextEdit, or your POS and scan again. Then check the USB cable, 2.4G receiver, or Bluetooth connection and confirm the correct interface mode. If it still does not work properly, please contact us and provide the scanner model, a description of the problem, and the operating system and application name.
